Difficulties identification and understanding, since 2006, ASEAN has published a general G.A.P Procedure (Good Agricultural Practices) for members. On January 28, 2008, the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued the specific standard applied in Vietnam, abbreviated to VietGAP.
VietG.A.P Introduction

After joining the WTO, Vietnam's exportation has had many positive changes. However, the amount of exported goods has not been as expected. One of the reasons is that our goods is not complied the strict standards of the importing countries. Currently, the export market of agricultural-aquatic-food products in the world is controlled by very strict standards about product quality as well as food safety and hygiene. Understanding these difficulties, since 2006, ASEAN has published a general G.A.P Procedure (Good Agricultural Practices) for members. On January 28, 2008, the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued the specific standard applied in Vietnam, abbreviated to VietGAP.
What is VietGAP?
VietGAP (Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices) means Good Agricultural Practices in Vietnam. VietGAP is issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for each type of product and each group of products.
VietGAP are principles, orders and procedures to guide organizations and individuals to produce, harvest and handle post-harvest to ensure safety, improve product quality, ensure social welfare and health of employees and consumers; at the same time, it help protect the environment and trace the origin of goods.
